"a pack of rabid hounds"

Bless thy Buddhist Blog-O-Sphere and bless thy "pack of rabid hounds." Over at Mind Tweaks, they have a great article not only about the Shallow Hallow thingy "TM" and its creator, 'Mr. Fantastic 2009', but the odd circle the wagons approach us bloggers have when another blogger is in trouble over expressing his/her opinions.

You will lose in the court of public opinion, because you’re not really dealing with the ONE small blogger, but the entire blogosphere. See, threatening a lawsuit against a blogger is like, well…

It’s like pushing a big red button that releases a pack of rabid hounds.

A pack of rabid hounds that races wildly around the countryside unchecked, braying about it at the top of their lungs until EVERYBODY knows.

It’s not pretty. It’s very slobbery. It’s wildly infectious.

And it’s very, very bad PR.

Once bloggers have the scent of blood, they tend to spread the very material you wanted to suppress far and wide.
Go check it out....and if you don't believe the article? Well....Google this and tell me otherwise:

"Bill Harris threatens blogger"

I'm not going to even begin to list all the sites that came to the aid of free speech and our fellow blogger, Duff, but let me tell you, its truely warms the heart to see the people can rally to cause of others. Today, I have yet another reason to smile.

"CRY HAVOC AND LET SLIP THE DOGS OF WAR"

*Cheesy Shakespeare quote yes, I know*

It's not a Star Trek quote?

Excellent for all the bloggers to stand up for each other. Bullying doesn't stop in grade school.

KAAHHNNN!

Seriously, the linked post was very insightful about how corporations, publishers, etc. can interact with criticizing bloggers ~ open a line of communication.

I don't need to tell you about negative reactions but when I posted about Tricycle, I got loads of responces from people telling me I was wrong as well as explaining why.

It was nice to get an opposing viewpoint rather than lawsuits or blocking accounts.

Cheers,

John

There, that picture I just added should make this post much more ambiguous.

KAAHNNNN!

And, yes its a lot like the Tricycle thing for you John, minus the threats and....assholary. :-)
