Many people “drift away from their faith.” There are more Christian “drifters” than Buddhists because there are more Christians (2.5 million vs. 400 million…who does this counting?).

Infidelity has no religious boundaries. Stupidity is not limited to any faith. Regret is universal (the biggest regret is that they got caught).

Oh I agree it is wrong and I, a non-Buddhist, will gladly bash Hume for being such a complete moron.

However, by acting this way in public you are actively disregarding the teachings of Buddha.

How can he get away with bashing Buddhism? It has nothing to do with their small numbers or relative population. It is simply a side effect of Buddha's teachings which have the effect of keeping Buddhists eternally pacified.

Great post -- but black isn't a religion. That really stuck out, the playing the race card in a place where it doesn't fit. I get the point but it seems like you are using a minority race to push forward your own agenda. As right as it is, it tarnishes it, I think, when you are so careless with the religions, races, cultures of others.

I was so outraged and used some words that were not mindful of Right Speech. So it looks like it's back to the cushion for me with some Metta for ignorant Brit, or maybe I should convert BACK to the religion I was raised on, confess my sins, say 5 Our Father's; 8 Hail Mary's to the Boss-man of the heavens, ask for his forgiveness and redemption, flog myself a couple of times just to make sure I am redeemed; and just in case I'm not, nail myself to a cross to get his attention. You know, a long time ago, a friend of mine tipped me off about a little discrepancy in the Lord's prayer...in the bible, the various times this prayer is iterated, it reads "..in Earth as it is in Heaven..". This has been changed significantly to "on Earth..". Rather than affirming that the right things be done on earth by us, the "in" version says (to me) that He is in us. In this context about the whole Brit Hume/Tiger Woods redemption thing, it means to me, that we look not to God to forgiveness, but to ourselves. I think it's harder to forgive ourselves for the things which we have done, or not done, thought or not thought than to take the superficial and easier route - that of begging God for forgiveness.

That makes me ashamed to be a Christian.
